House Charity @ 31st October

Up to Friday 25th October, you had raised a total of £181.06 for The Parents Consortium. A large proportion of this was donated by Mr Riches' form who contributed an amazing £75 last week! This is a tremendous display of generosity and I'd like to thank Mr Riches and his year 12s for, yet again, leading by example.

House Points @ 31st October

Having just checked Behaviour Watch, I'm really pleased that in the space of a few weeks we've moved from fifth to first place! Here's how things stand at present:

1. Stevenson: 7453
2. Darwin: 7195
3. Newton: 7081
4. Telford: 6805
5: Brunel: 6799

This is a great achievement and I'd like to thank everyone for their contribution to this brilliant turn-around in our fortunes. We mustn't get complacent, though, as the positions can (and do) fluctuate regularly. Those listed below deserve a special mention as they're the students in their respective forms with the most House Points to date:

7S: Matthew Lecoq - 106
8S: Karanjot Chhatwal - 77
9S: Reuben McQueen - 89
10S: Peter Farmer & Samuel Gale - 63
11S: Matthew Husband - 49
12S: Elizabeth Cornford - 97
13S: David Roddy - 50

Well done everyone. Thank you.

House Points @ 10th October

Considering we were awarded the most House Points in 2012/13, I was quite shocked to see how we're doing when I checked about an hour ago. Right now, it looks like this:

1. Newton - 4923
2. Dawin - 4867
3. Telford - 4569
4. Brunel - 4499
5. Stevenson - 4378

Come on! We can do much, much better this. It's still early in the school year and we've got plenty of time to catch-up, but let's not get complacent.

Better late than never!

Welcome back everyone. I’m sorry for the delay in posting this first House blog of 2013/14.

First of all, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome our new year 7s and the external students who have joined the new joint sixth form – WG6. At our first House assembly on Friday 20th September, you’ll recall that students from each form gave a short presentation on their nominated charity for 2013/14. You then had the opportunity to vote on your way out of the hall. As a result, I’m pleased to announce that you have decided to support The Parents Consortium this year.

Our next House assembly is taking place tomorrow, Friday 11th October, so please go directly to the hall at 10:25 straight after period 2. It's important that we make a prompt start because Denise Ward-Corderoy from The Parents Consortium is visiting to speak to us about the work of the organisation and, more specifically, how the money we raise will make a real impact in local communities.

See you tomorrow.
