House Charity Total @ 07th May

Up to 07th May, you had raised £1692 for Ellenor Lions Hospices.  Here's a comparison:

1. Stevenson – £1692.27 (2011/12 total was £1600.04)
2. Telford – £1564.03
3. Darwin – £1514.13
4. Newton – £1340.51
5. Brunel – £292.92

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, though, only ourselves and Darwin have paid in the non-uniform money collected last Friday so it’s likely that Telford (and perhaps Newton) are closer than these figures suggest. Even so, it’s great that we’ve already beaten last year’s total (£1600.04) with over a term left of the school year. With several other fundraising events planned between now and the end of July, there’s every possibility we could raise £2000 – fantastic!

Excellent work, boys.  Thank you for your continued support and commitment.

The results in this tournament were as follows:

19th April
• Brunel 2 – 1 Darwin
• Stevenson 1 – 2 Telford

22nd April
• Darwin 1 – 1 Newton
• Brunel 0 – 0 Telford

23rd April
• Brunel 2 – 0 Newton

26th April
• Newton 0 – 3 Stevenson (walk-over – Newton failed to field a team)
• Darwin 0 – 3 Telford 3 (walk-over – Darwin failed to field a team)

29th April
• Newton 1 – 1 Telford (draw - both teams fielded 5 players, so not enough for the match to go ahead)
• Brunel 0 – 3 Stevenson (walk-over – Brunel only fielded 2 players)

This means the final positions were:
  • 1st: Stevenson - Played 2, won 3 (2 x walk-over), drew 0, lost 1, for 9, against 3, G/D + 6 = 9 points
  • 2nd: Telford - Played 2, won 2 (1 x walk-over), drew 2, (1 x pointts shared), lost 0, for 6, against 2, G/D + 4 = 8 points
  • 3rd: Brunel - Played 3, won 2, drew 1, lost 1 (walk-over), for 4, against 4, G/D 0 = 7 points
  • 4th: Newton - Played 2, won 0, drew 2 (1 x points shared), lost 2 (1 x walk-over), for 2, against 7, G/D - 5 = 2 points
  • 5th: Darwin - Played 3, won 0, drew1, lost 3 (1 x walk-over), for 3, against 8, G/D - 5 = 1 point
Thanks to everyone who represented the House and congratulations on winning the tournament.  We were the only House who consistently had enough players to particpate, which is ultimately why we were deserving winners.  Thanks also to the members of staff who got involved and supported the teams on match days.
