Here are the details:

Thanks to everyone who's contributed to date. Donations by form are:

+ 7S: £44.77
+ 8S: £33.34
+ 9S: £24.01
+ 10S: £73.07
+ 11S: £13.60
+ Y12: £76.52
+ Y13: £85.65

The balance of £176.99 comprises the money collected on 13th, 20th, 27th September and 06th December (which wasn’t broken down by form), £14.23 carried over from 2012/13 (which wasn't included in the final cheque to EllenorLions in July) and the £103.00 raised at the Display Auction on 16th December.

I'd like to thank Miss Alcock for her excellent work - yet again - for the House. Before Christmas, not only did she organise and run the Display Auction, she also oversaw the successful 'Wilmington Bake Off' Inter House competition which proved extremely popular. I think there'll be demand for that to be repeated next year, Miss!

To have raised so much since September for The Parents Consortium is a great achievement and I'd like to thank everyone for their generosity, particularly Y10, 12 and 13 for setting such a great example to the younger students.

Have a great weekend.
Each form should by now have nominated two students to represent their form. There will be three competitions (see dates below) in order for all year groups to be able to participate and represent their House.

This will be a Christmas themed Bake Off and students will need to work in pairs to bake a 'Show Stopper' Christmas Cake. Everything will need to be made in school and all ingredients will need to be purchased by the students and brought into school in the morning. Students will have 2 1/2 hours to bake their cakes and then display them to be judged over lunch time.

For year 11, 12 and 13 students, two students from each year 11 group will work together. However, for year 12 and 13, only two student from each sixth form House can enter due to the restrictions of the number of cookers in the food room. Ideally, one student from year 12 will work with another from year 13 to make one team.

+ Years 7 & 8 – Monday 09th December (periods 1 – 4)

+ Years 11, 12 & 13 – Wednesday 11th December (periods 1 – 4)

+ Years 9 & 10 - Friday 13th December (periods 1 – 4)

Please see either Miss Alcock or myself if you have any further questions about this.
So, we've moved up from fifth to third position since the end of last week. Remember though it's easy to get complacent and so we all need to keep working hard to ensure we continue to improve our position.
Thanks everyone.
Considering we were awarded the most House Points in 2012/13, I was quite shocked to see how we're doing when I checked about an hour ago. Right now, it looks like this:

1. Newton - 4923
2. Dawin - 4867
3. Telford - 4569
4. Brunel - 4499
5. Stevenson - 4378

Come on! We can do much, much better this. It's still early in the school year and we've got plenty of time to catch-up, but let's not get complacent.
Welcome back everyone. I’m sorry for the delay in posting this first House blog of 2013/14.

First of all, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome our new year 7s and the external students who have joined the new joint sixth form – WG6. At our first House assembly on Friday 20th September, you’ll recall that students from each form gave a short presentation on their nominated charity for 2013/14. You then had the opportunity to vote on your way out of the hall. As a result, I’m pleased to announce that you have decided to support The Parents Consortium this year.

Our next House assembly is taking place tomorrow, Friday 11th October, so please go directly to the hall at 10:25 straight after period 2. It's important that we make a prompt start because Denise Ward-Corderoy from The Parents Consortium is visiting to speak to us about the work of the organisation and, more specifically, how the money we raise will make a real impact in local communities.

See you tomorrow.
Up to 07th May, you had raised £1692 for Ellenor Lions Hospices. Here's a comparison:

1. Stevenson – £1692.27 (2011/12 total was £1600.04)
2. Telford – £1564.03
3. Darwin – £1514.13
4. Newton – £1340.51
5. Brunel – £292.92

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, though, only ourselves and Darwin have paid in the non-uniform money collected last Friday so it’s likely that Telford (and perhaps Newton) are closer than these figures suggest. Even so, it’s great that we’ve already beaten last year’s total (£1600.04) with over a term left of the school year. With several other fundraising events planned between now and the end of July, there’s every possibility we could raise £2000 – fantastic!

Excellent work, boys. Thank you for your continued support and commitment.
Here's how things stood yesterday:

1. Darwin – 13453 (20.3%)
2. Stevenson – 13400 (20.2%)
3. Telford – 13273 (20.0%)
4. Newton – 13158 (19.8%)
5. Brunel – 13035 (19.7%)

The highest achievers in each form are:

7S – Karanjot Chhatwal (168)
8S – Connor Weeden (178)
9S – Peter Farmer (205)
10S – Sam Boorer (120)
11S – Ben Biggs (103)
6S1 – Kishanthan Johnson (96)
6S2 – Matthew Williams (87)

Well done to everyone who has contributed to this total, especially those listed above. Keep up the good work, boys, and there's every chance we could end the year top of the pile!
<span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif;">Thanks to everyone who represented the House and congratulations on winning the tournament.
